In 2018-October Juniper announced that the new JNCIE-SEC JPR-933 beta exam will be available in December and January. Ok, this might not be super recent news, it was announced last October – I am just a bit behind on posting stuff due to studying for my JNCIE-SEC.

This is pretty big news to me right now as I am actively preparing for my 2nd JNCIE-SEC attempt on 28-Jan-2019 ( just a little over a week away).  There are some big changes coming to the test!.

The current lab is entirely SRX based hardware, the new lab will incorporate vSRX, vQFX, and Junos Space Security Director.  Also on the lab looks to be SDSN/Sky STP (think that should be ATP) as well as more configurations in Security Director.  So now not only do you need to know how to secure your network, you also need to know how to use the tools to manage and report on it.

I think these are some nice additions to the lab and may make it a bit harder.  To find more on what is on the labs, head on over to Juniper’s JNCIE-SEC page.  Both exams are listed (JPR-932 and JPR-933). The new lab is in active beta, so expect to see it rolled out very soon!

Let’s hope I can pass this next lab attempt 🙂
