Everything on this site — opinions, product reviews, “what’s in my bag,” configs, and everything else — reflects my own personal views and experience. It doesn’t represent the views or positions of any current or former employer, vendor, or organization I’m affiliated with.
Content here is provided for informational and educational purposes only, not as professional advice:
- Network configs, scripts, and how-tos are shared as-is, based on what worked for me in my own environment at the time. Test anything in a lab before running it against production equipment. I make no guarantee something here is current, complete, or won’t break your setup.
- The Financial Tools section (retirement planner, debt payoff, loan calculators, etc.) is for illustration and personal use only — it is not financial advice. All calculations run entirely in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere, but the results are only as good as the assumptions you put in. Talk to an actual financial professional for real financial decisions.
- RSVLTS Search has its own disclaimer on that page covering data freshness and accuracy — the short version: it’s an independent, unofficial tool, not affiliated with RSVLTS or any retailer listed.

Some older posts may contain Amazon Associates or other affiliate links from years past; these may no longer be active or monetized, but are called out here for transparency. There’s no current, active affiliate or sponsorship arrangement on this site as of this writing.
Everything here is offered in good faith, but comes with no warranty of any kind — use at your own risk.
What we collect
Like essentially every website, the web server logs standard connection information for every request: your IP address, browser and operating system (from the User-Agent string your browser sends automatically), the page requested, the referring page (if any), and a timestamp. This is normal server-log data, used only for keeping the site running — troubleshooting problems, understanding traffic patterns, and blocking malicious/automated attack traffic (this site gets a constant background level of bot scanning, like every website on the internet).
We don’t collect anything beyond that. No names, no email addresses, no account creation, no forms, no purchases happen on this site.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies. No login system, no comments system, no tracking pixels — there’s nothing here that needs one.
Local storage
The dark/light theme toggle (top right of the site) saves your preference using your browser’s local storage, not a cookie. This stays entirely on your device and is never sent to the server or anywhere else — it just remembers which theme you picked the next time you visit.
Analytics and ads
No analytics or tracking scripts run on this site — no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, nothing like that. There is no active advertising on this site either.
Third-party services this site relies on
A few pieces of the site are served from third-party infrastructure, which means your browser makes a direct request to them (and they’ll see your IP address the same way any web request does):
- The site theme’s JavaScript and CSS (fonts/icons, animations, the search box, lazy-loaded images, copy-to-clipboard buttons, social share buttons) are loaded from a CDN (jsDelivr).
- Some older post images are served through Jetpack’s image CDN (a WordPress-affiliated image-resizing service), left over from this site’s earlier WordPress days.
Neither of these is known to set tracking cookies for this kind of static-asset use, but full transparency means mentioning them.
RSVLTS Search and links to other sites
The RSVLTS Search tool searches product data from several retailers’ own public catalogs and links out to those retailers’ sites so you can complete a purchase there. Clicking through to any retailer (or any other external link on this site, in a blog post or otherwise) takes you to that site’s own privacy practices, which we don’t control. This site itself doesn’t process purchases, collect payment information, or share any visitor data with those retailers.
Security logging
Like most sites, automated tools here watch for and block obvious attack traffic (common vulnerability-scanning patterns, brute-force login attempts against paths that don’t even exist on this static site, etc.). This is standard security hygiene, not tracking of individual visitors.
