CiscoSecure Firewall Threat DefenseManaged by Management Center
Plan a Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) upgrade from your current release to a target. The tool follows Cisco's direct-upgrade table for Management Center-managed devices, only uses releases your model supports, orders the Management Center and device upgrades so the device is never past or out of range of its Management Center, checks FXOS minimums on Firepower 4100/9300, and shows where each release sits in Cisco's end-of-life announcements. Paste show version from the device to fill in your version and model.
This covers Threat Defense managed by an on-prem Firewall Management Center. It does not cover ASA software, Firewall Device Manager, virtual (FTDv) deployments, or the Snort rule and VDB lifecycle.

1 Your device
Pick your model so the tool only uses releases it supports. Leave it on “Not sure” to see the path for the releases alone. Several models share one row in Cisco's compatibility guide (for example the 3110 to 3140).
2 Your releases
With the Management Center version the tool gives the exact order of Management Center and device upgrades. Without it, you get the standing rule only.

The direct-upgrade table and FXOS minimums come from the “Planning Your Upgrade” chapter of Cisco's Threat Defense Upgrade Guide for Management Center, Version 10.x; model support, the Management Center range for each release and the end-of-life dates come from the Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense Compatibility Guide. Cisco's tables are by release line: each target release also has a minimum current build and specific upgrade guidelines in its release notes, which this tool does not read. The “suggested release” is the one Cisco names in its compatibility guide. Lifecycle for releases not yet announced (7.4, 7.6 and 10.x) is not shown because Cisco has not published dates for them in that guide.
